Eastern Zones Girls Basketball Report

 Congratulations to the year 7/8 girls basketball team who played 4 great games at the Eastern Zones tournament on Wednesday 14th September. Every team member scored at least one goal each with a special mention to Lexi for her total of 14 points. Great team work girls.

Who                  Parnell Poppies, Gold, Jackals, Pink Panthers, Professionals, Pace and Piranhas


 




 Please bring a plate of food or drink and cups.  This can be delovered into Room 19 from 8.30am-9am OR 2.45pm.

After school Netball Prizegiving
Thursday 15th September in Room 19, 3.15pm.  One plate per family, the food/drink/cups can be dropped off between 8.30-9am to Room 19. 
          
 Year 3-8 Sports Assembly – Wednesday 21st September 12.15-1.00pm in the school hall- all parents and caregivers are welcome to attend.  If you have been awarded a BS or EZ sports certificate or medal please give it to Ms Marra by Tuesday next week.

BS Hockey – the team has been selected and being trained by Rachael Donovan.  Good luck for your tournament on Thursday 22nd September

Jump Rope for Heart- find that skipping rope as PDS starts jumping from week 8 to 9 and the BIG Jump Off is in Term 4-week 1 on Friday October 14th 2-3pm.  Gold coin donations accepted ALL week and proceeds go to Heart Foundation.
Touch Rugby Competition- Is there any Year 5-6 students keen to be part of a team playing on Thursday or Friday nights at College Rifles or Wednesday night at Madils Farm.  Email valeriem@parnell.school.nz for more information or check the sports blog.

Anyone interested in Touch Rugby for kids at Madills Farm on Wednesday evening- enter a team

Below is the information re Wednesday evening -Touch for the kids, at Madill's Farm.   


·  Touch is on Wednesdays at Madill's Farm
·  Time slots are - 4.30pm / 5pm / 5.30pm & 6.00pm
·  Cost is $500 -
·  We can cater for 48 kids teams.  There has already been a lot of interest from teams from last year and also new teams. So please get in quick to register and get all information.  <http://www.skillsfirst.co.nz>  

·  First Touch game commences Wed 26th October (After Labour Day). Finals are on Wednesday 14th December

 PDS School wide Cross Country 16th August – Thank you to Piria Brown and Lucy Bowerman and the Staff, Community and Students for a fantastic Cross Country Event last Tuesday.

Bay Suburbs and Eastern Zones Cross country- PDS will send 10 teams of 8 students next Thursday 1st September, Churchill Park School. Transport and Managers required for each team.  Please contact valeriem@parnell.school.nz if you can help on the day.  Students to run in the PDS sports uniform and wear running shoes.

Promoting an upcoming Duathlon- check this out!!!!

Pukekohe Raceway Kids Obstacle Duathlon is being held on Tuesday the 20th of September (last week of Term 3). 

This year we have extra obstacles on the obstacle course run, including an inflatable climbing wall/slide, and every student will receive a finishers medal when they cross the finish line.
Can you please support the event by promoting it to your students. It would be great to have your school involved in the event.
