Rules
1.    The court boundaries are the side and base lines(white) of the net. As in tennis, lines are in.
2.    Serves must be hit underhand, with or without a bounce, from below the waist, with both feet behind the white line and land anywhere on the other side of the net inside the court.
3.    Once the ball is in play, it can be hit anywhere in bounds, either after one bounce or in the air on the full.
4.    The server gets only one chance to make a good serve.  If the ball is out on the serve the other person gains the serve but NOT the point.
5.    You win a point on your serve.

6.    Follow the points rule above.

Cricket Blitz players needed for 2016 - Year 5-6 students

Cricket Blitz 2016

Are there any social cricketers that would like to play in a modified cricket tournament held locally at Auckland Domain run by Auckland Cricket Association.  This will be PDS 2nd year of entering this social 6 week tournament.

What is Cricket Blitz?
Cricket Blitz is a fun, new and easy-to-play form of cricket played after school. Last season the competition was a huge success with over 120 teams taking part.  The competition will start in the week 3 Thursday  18th of February and go for 6 weeks with games being played from 4.00 - 5.30pm and most of them locally at Auckland Domain.

Cricket Blitz targets the semi-competitive to social cricketer. The modifications to the rules are made to allow every player a fair chance to bat, bowl and field. Teams are only 8-a-side, every player has to bat for a minimum of 4 overs and bowl for 2 overs. The games are also short with each team’s innings only lasting 16 overs. Cricket Blitz really does focus on fun and participation!

If you are keen to register for this team please contact Valerie Marra at  valeriem@parnell.school.nz
immediately so I can register our team.
