PDS are "Skipping sensations"
Jump Rope For Heart is 30 years old this year . It is a
great program that teaches children to skip, keep active and look after their
hearts whilst raising vital funds for the Heart Foundation. To celebrate
we at Parnell District School will jump for 15 minutes daily with our
syndicate. I have allocated times from
9:15am-1pm in Week 1 Monday to Friday. If your child has their own skipping rope please encourage them to bring it along to school.
The below website has
great ideas for different skipping styles and combinations that you can trial at home with your family.
On Friday 16th
October many of the classes at school took part in the school "Jump off". We had great Kiwi sounds on and the students, staff and community joined in for some “freestyle” skipping. It was great to see many of the older students supporting the younger students and encouraging them with their skipping. There were many smiling happy people around and by the end of the day we were all quite puffed.
We gathered many a "gold" coin to donate to the Heart Foundation and Ros will give me the total tomorrow.
